  1. Hello,

I’m an editing student and I have a question about an exercise, I was wondering if you could help me out…

Can I input an EDL [[non-searchable]pdf] in final cut pro x without using the mouse?

Now I select the range with mouse skimmer, skimmer info on…, can I do this without using a mouse Than I create a keyword [001, …] per shot , and I also put this [001,..] in the notes, to get to a string-out… [watch out for through edits].

    Thanks,

    • Sorry if I’m being dense, but not sure I understand the question. FCP X can’t import an EDL, you’d need to get something in fcpxml format. As to adding keywords etc via KB only, I believe you can do that..

  2. I was pretty excited to see this post, but when I tested the timecode effect it didn’t display timecode that matched. On some clips the timeline timecode (REC) was way off, but if I reapplied the filter after trimming the clip, it would get closer. If my timeline started at 00:59:58;00 the filter would not match but seemed to always start at 00:00:00:00.

    Have you experienced this?

On another note, I really appreciate all your tips and full posts. Entertaining and helpful.

    • I haven’t seen that, I’ll play around with it some and see if it pops up. That said, I’d shoot an email to CoreMelt, they’re very responsive. And thanks for reading, glad it’s helpful!
